Не следует их рассматривать как некое отдельное самостоятельное явление.
Есть ещё группа называемая LAShTAL, альбом ещё аж за 1983-й(!) год и называется "Toum Aesh Neith", прекрасный эмбиент, сделанный вживую.

Кстати, на счёт Modern Talking, не плохая мысль! Вот к примеру C.C.Catch является одним из проэктов Дитера Болена (Modern Talking), в ту пору они брали и поднимали талантливых (на их взгляд) единиц своим собственным гением (стихами, деньгами и музыкальными средствами), но тексты просто изумительны:
